Term 3 2016 Updates and Newsletter
Hi everyone!
Welcome back to our existing students and a warm welcome to our new students, too!
Term 3 brings about a few changes. Firstly, I am very proud to announce that I won the WA Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Award 2016 at the recent Austswim Conference. A huge thank you to the families that nominated me – I was absolutely blown away and very proud to win. I will now represent WA in the National Awards, which I believe happen early next year.
The next exciting piece of news is we have a new swim teacher, Mike! If you haven’t already met him, you will certainly do so in the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately I had to have an unscheduled minor surgical procedure on Thursday. I found out yesterday that I am not allowed back in the water for at least a week. Mike will be able to take all the afternoon classes except Tuesday afternoon (I will contact you guys separately). However, he is not qualified to teach anyone under 4 years old, which means I am unable to run my morning classes next week. I will also be in contact with you guys to discuss the options.
Finally, I have had a few people asking if I will make another Toastees order this year. If at least 10 rashies are ordered I will be able to get wholesale prices for you. However, Toastees put their prices up in July and I have yet to get the new wholesale pricelist so I will chase that. In the meantime, if you do want to order a rashie, please send me an expression of interest and I will send you out the new price as soon as I have it.
In conclusion, please prepare any kids who are not so keen on change for Mike, as he will be teaching them in the afternoons this week . I will be in contact with my morning classes and the Tuesday afternoon classes about alternative arrangements. I am so sorry for all inconvenience – it certainly wasn’t planned!
Have a great week, and happy swimming – don’t forget to make use of the wheat bags in the changing room. Warm them up in the microwave and fold them into your towel to make a toasty treat after your lesson!
Best wishes,
Cathy
PS The other exciting news I have is that Sea Turtle Swim School is now an Austswim Recognised Swim School – this means that if your Health Provider offers a rebate for swimming lessons, you can claim it. Also, watch this space as we are in the process of becoming a Royal Lifesaving Society endorsed school too
