Medical Release and Declaration

I authorise the teacher to obtain medical assistance which they deem necessary should an accident occur, and agree to pay all medical expenses incurred on behalf of the above student and/or carer. I will submit any important medical information about my child and include other relevant information and details of limitations which he/she has for the activity concerned. I further authorise qualified practitioners to administer anaesthetic if such an eventuality arises.

Privacy Policy

I understand that the information that I have provided to Sea Turtle Swim School is collected and held in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act. I understand that the information I have provided is necessary for the service to be provided. I acknowledge and agree that the information will only be used to facilitate the service and to advise me of matters relating to the service. I understand that I will be able to access and alter information that has been supplied.

Supervision

Carers are advised that they are always to remain on the premises and accompany children when they are not within the fenced pool area.

Absenteeism

In order for your child to benefit from swimming lessons, regular attendance is vital. If you miss a lesson you will forfeit the lesson fee. If your teacher is absent and no relief teacher is available, the lesson will be done at a later date or a credit will be given on the next term’s fees. Make up lessons (maximum of two a term due to illness only ) are strictly subject to availability and are not a right.

Parking Policy

Please be very aware that we teach from home in a residential area. You are required to park within the boundary of the property (i.e. not on the verge). Please refer to the parking map in your customer notices or on display at Sea Turtle Swim School. Please also endeavour to enter forwards and leave forwards, ALWAYS watching out for children in the vicinity.  Cars are parked at your own risk.

Nappies

Please take your nappies home with you! We are a home business and only have a domestic rubbish bin – we don’t want to stink out the neighbours!  Also, if your child is not toilet trained, they MUST wear a reusable swim nappy in the pool. Leakages will result in everyone having to get out and lots of chemicals having to be poured in. How embarrassing would that be?!

Class Discipline

We have lots of fun in our lessons, but because water can be a dangerous place, there are rules that your child must obey. They need to have their ears out the water when it is not their turn, listen to what the teacher says, hold on to the side with two hands and absolutely never interfere with another child in the class (e.g. pinching/ kicking, pushing under). We generally give an unruly child a couple of verbal warnings before giving them a final warning with a consequence for non-compliance. If they continue to misbehave, I will make them sit on the side for one minute. If they misbehave further, they will be sat out for five minutes and if it continues I will ask them to get out for the remainder of the lesson. If a child continually misbehaves we reserve the right to exclude them from lessons.

Fees

Payment is required in full prior to the term’s lessons starting, unless other arrangements have been made with Cathy.  If fees are not paid, Cathy reserves the right to exclude your child from lessons until payment is received. By paying your fees you are committing to a full term’s lessons. Refunds are only given in exceptional circumstances, and generally only if the place is able to be re-filled. A $25 admin fee will be applied to all cancellations.
